Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has declared that except in four zones in Hyderabad, there are no Corona Virus active cases in the State. The CM said that the lockdown in the state would continue as it is and based on the guidelines to be given by the Centre on May 17, end of the countrywide lockdown announced by the centre, further strategy for the State would be finalised. The CM has instructed officials concerned to take precautionary measures to prevent seasonal diseases that may break out during rainy season, while continuing the efforts to contain the spread of Corona in the State.
The CM held a high-level review meeting on Friday at Pragathi Bhavan here on measures taken to curtail the Corona Virus, implementation of the lockdown, precautionary measures to be taken to prevent the outbreak of seasonal diseases.
Ministers Eatala Rajender, KT Rama Rao, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Ms. Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary (Municipal) Arvind Kumar, MAUD Commissioner Sri Satyanarayana, Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj) Sandeep Sultania, Commissioner Raghunandan Rao, Police Commissioners Anjani Kumar, Sajjanar, Mahesh Bhagwat, senior IPS Officer Jitendra were present.
“Corona Virus in Telangana has limited itself to four zones in Hyderabad city. LB Nagar, Malakpet, Charminar, Karawan Zones have Corona active cases. There are 1442 families in these areas. Some migrant labour in Yadadri Bhongir, Jangaon, Mancherial have tested positive for the virus but not people from these districts. Hence it cannot be counted as the three districts having the positive cases. In the four containment zones where there are positive cases the restrictions are implemented in totality. All those who are having symptoms are identified and treatment is given to them,” the CM said.
“There is nothing to be scared about Corona. A majority of people has been recovering from the virus. In the Telangana State the percentage of people who died due to Corona was only 2.38 percent. This is less than the nation’s average of 3.5 per cent. Hence there is no need to be fearful about Corona. We don’t know how long this Virus will be with us. Hence we have to adapt a strategy to live with it and we have no option,” the CM said.
“From Saturday, in all the areas in the State, Shops selling A/Cs, automobile show rooms, automobile spare parts selling shops, will be permitted to open. Registration offices, RTA officer all over the State will function. Other lockdown guidelines will be implemented. The lockdown imposed by the centre will come to an end on May 17. There is a possibility of the Centre releasing some more guidelines on the matter. The State will examine those guidelines, review the situation in the state and finalise the future course of strategy and implement the same,” the CM explained.
“We have to be on alert about those visiting from abroad, those coming here by trains. Conduct tests for those coming to Hyderabad by flights. If they test positive for the virus send them to the hospitals for quarantine. Otherwise put them in home quarantine. For those reaching Hyderabad by air to go to other states, put them in special buses and send them to their respective states from the Airport itself. Conducts tests on the migrant labour reaching here by trains. Send people from other states, to their respective states,” the CM instructed.
“Take up sanitation works in urban areas and in the villages so that there will not be any outbreak of seasonal diseases. Spray Sodium hypo chloride five times in a month. By May end twice, in June five times do the spraying. Remove garbage and do fogging several times to prevent Mosquitoes. Keep urban areas and villages clean. This will help contain the Corona virus and prevent outbreak of any seasonal diseases. In Urban areas, Mayors, Chairpersons, Corporators, in rural areas, Sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC, ZP Chairperson should play an active role. They should keep the areas under their jurisdiction clean and tidy. Create awareness among the people. Get work done by the official machinery. Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, Panchayat Raj Minister Dayakar Rao should hold videoconferences and give suggestions to the urban and rural areas on the sanitation works to be done,” the CM said.
“Though the economic situation is not good due to the lockdown, we are ensuring the funds are not a problem to take up sanitation works and other emergency works in urban and rural areas. We are releasing the monthly funds to be released to urban and rural areas. We have so far released for the month of February, March, April and May. We have instructed the finance department to release funds for the month of June,” the CM said.
The CM said in Hyderabad City, basthi Dawakhanas got a good response. As on date 123 Basti Dawakhans are running, the CM said and instructed medical and Health Minister Rajender and MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao to open 45 more clinics.
The CM also instructed the officials to conduct Haritha Haram programme all over the State from June 20.
